Which airport is best?
If you're staying in Colorado Springs, you probably want the Colorado Springs Airport (COS).
If you're staying in the Denver area, you want Denver International Airport (DEN).
Should I rent a car?
Probably — ride shares to and from the venue are possible, but better if scheduled ahead of time. If you can coordinate with someone else who's renting a car, that's also great! Especially if you're staying at one of our recommended hotels. Colorado is known for many beautiful things, but public transit is not one of them.
What should I wear?
The dress code is cocktail attire.
We encourage guests to wear our favorite colors: teal and purple! But no pressure at all, please don't feel like you have to buy something new.
A couple of things to note: It will be October in Colorado and the weather can be unpredictable, so layers are a good idea.
When choosing footwear, keep in mind that the ceremony will be outdoors and Spruce Mountain Ranch has a lot of beautiful grounds to explore.
Our wedding colors are the fall jewel tones and the wedding party will be in emerald, sapphire, and teal.
The family is encouraged to wear warm, rich fall tones like darker reds, oranges, and yellows.
The vibes are foresty, cottage-corey, sunflowery, whimsicaly, fally, warmy, cozy, chocolate chip cookie...y.
We also encourage folks to dress up to their heart's content. If you want to be fancy, be fancy! But it's not required to be any fancier than "cocktail" fancy.
If you are worrying about what to wear, please just reach out to us. We are more than happy to help. Love you. Bye.
What is cocktail attire, though?
The internet says a lot of things about "cocktail" attire, but what we mean is:
- Dresses of ~about knee length or longer
- Suits welcomed, ties optional
- Nice pants, skirts and tops are also fine
- No jeans, shorts, T-shirts or flip flops
- Gendered clothing standards need not apply here :)
Why October 4th?
Lacey often uses the phrase "copy that" as an acknowledgement, having adopted it from using it in theater. "10-4" is another way of saying the same thing on a radio. Dylan used to tease Lacey about her use of radio lingo in everyday speech, and waited until 10/4 to ask her to go steady. Our wedding will be exactly nine years since we started dating, keeping our existing anniversary.
Who designed this site?
Our friend Ana De Magalhães worked with us to design the website and invitations!
